Lowongan kerja The World Bank Group intends to engage a Senior Procurement Specialist to join its Jakarta-based team. The Indonesia project portfolio is one of the Bank's largest and most diversified, including projects in the social sector: infrastructure including energy and transportation, public financial management programs, community driven development projects, and development policy loans. This is a Locally Recruited Staff position under a 2 Year Term appointment, renewable subject to individual performance and the hiring Unit's need.

Key responsibilities:
Senior Procurement Specialist's role is to perform both the procurement fiduciary and service functions to the Bank's portfolio in Indonesia, in order to consistently deliver prompt and accurate procurement support and clearances to the Bank-financed projects. S/he achieves this primarily through working as the Designated Procurement Specialist (DPS) to a number of projects under preparation and supervision and playing a lead role in advising and assisting clients and colleagues in handling complex procurement tasks and resolving challenging issues, which frequently cut across sectors and/or work units. He/she will employ appropriate methodologies for provision of effective procurement support to task teams, make significant contributions in evaluating and developing improvements to the procurement arrangements of ongoing projects and the client's procurement systems and practices. The incumbent is also expected to develop and execute procurement training modules to strengthen procurement capacity within client’s entities and the Bank operational staff, as well as guide and mentor junior procurement.

The Senior Procurement Specialist will report to the Regional Procurement Manager (RPM) based in the World Bank Headquarters in Washington DC; and for day-to-day activities work under the supervision of the Lead Procurement Specialist/Procurement Hub Leader based in the Jakarta Office.

Selection Criteria:
• Masters degree or above with major in relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Law, Procurement, Finance, Business, Commerce, etc), with minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• State-of-the at knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices which govern international procurement, development of public procurement policies.
• Knowledge of the Bank's business objectives, policies and practices related to project/sector and critical links to procurement is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Procurement systems, procedures and practices in Indonesia is desirable.
• Strong command of English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is desirable.
