The project Management of Georisks in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (ManGeoNAD) is part of the German-Indonesia technical cooperation. Partner institution of the project are the National Geological Agency in Bandung, the Dinas Pertambangan dan Energi (Distamben) of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) on the Indonesian side & the Federal Intitute for Geoscience & Natural Resources (BGR) on the German side.

 

The project is focusing in four areas :
1.    Collection & preparation of geological base data for the reconstruction process
2.    Provision of technical information & expert knowledge for spatial planning institution
3.    Institutional strengthening of the partner, and as a comprehensive focus
4.    Awareness rising of the population of natural hazard & georisks

In order to make information & result available internally (Internet) and also the public (Webbased) ManGeoNAD intends to hire one person as permanent staff for five months, 02/2009 – 06/2009. The person wee are looking for should meet the following requirements :

Minimum Requirements :
·    Good knowledge of English language, at least oral (active & passive)
·    Good knowledge of database & first experience with SQL (MS Access & preferably knowledge of one “real” database like PostgreSQL or Oracle)
·    Good knowledge of web language, at least HTML, CSS, some experience with Java Script
·    First experience with Content Management System (CMS), preferably Joomla or Drupal
·    First working experience with Linux Server Software, preferably Ubuntu

The fulfillment of one or more of the following requirements by the applicant will be considered as an asset :
·    Familiar with the processing of spatial data
·    Knowledge of ArcGIS or other GIS-Software
·    Knowledge of web-mapping applications (Mapserver, Geoserver)
·    Experience with Geonetwork, the Open Source metadata catalog
·    Knowledge of OGC standards
·    Network Administration, ideally in a Linux server – Windows Clients environment
